Dmitry Solomakhin was promoted to Portfolio Manager of the FF Global Technology Fund in November 2008. Prior to this appointment, he was an Assistant Portfolio Manager within the Global Equities Team, with particular focus on technology, industrials, soft commodities, shipping, and petrochemicals. He joined Fidelity in January 2006 a European Equity Research Analyst, covering the aerospace & defence sector as well airlines and logistics, until January 2008. During his tenure, Dmitry has an enviable stock picking track record as an analyst and was voted top buy-side Aerospace & Defence analyst by companies in the 2007 Thomson Extel Survey. He has a keen interest in the technology sector, as reflected by his work experience. His previous roles included working as an IT Project Manager for Nestlé from 1999 to 2001 in Russia/Poland, where he was responsible for business systems implementations in Europe. He then worked for Gillette Germany as IT Project Manager from 2002 to 2004, where he was responsible for business system rollouts. Dmitry has had Financial Analysis and Securities Training at Carnegie Mellon University in Moscow, and has an MSc. (Hons.) in Applied Mathematics & Computer Sciences from Moscow State University, Russia. He also holds an MBA (Hons) from INSEAD.
