Vinay joined the First State Stewart team in July 2011. He covers Indian sub-continent equities. Prior to joining First State, Vinay worked with Arisaig Partners Investment Managers in Mumbai for eight years and he was the co-head of the Arisaig Asia Fund when he left. Before that, he managed the Arisaig India Fund until it was merged into the Asia Fund in early 2010. Vinay also set up a research office and a team for Arisaig Partners in Mumbai in 2005 and was responsible for running the Indian office. In addition Vinay has one year's experience of working as a Credit Analyst with CRISIL and SBI Mutual Fund in India. Vinay graduated with a management degree from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta with a major in Finance in 2002. He also holds an Honors Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Accountancy from the Calcutta University in 1999.
