(Sharecast News) - Green fertiliser project developer Atome announced on Tuesday that it has secured an option to acquire an additional 13 hectares of land adjacent to its Villeta facility in Paraguay.

The AIM-traded firm said the expansion would increase the total site footprint to 43 hectares, enhancing the project's capacity and operational flexibility.

It said the option, exercisable until 31 May 2025, would allow Atome to complete due diligence and necessary formalities.

If exercised, the acquisition would be funded from the company's existing resources.

The additional land was expected to provide logistical efficiencies and support the project's transition to the construction phase.

At 1407 GMT, shares in Atome were down 5.52% at 49.13p.
