(Sharecast News) - Advanced computing systems designer and manufacturer Concurrent Technologies unveiled 'Hermod II', a rugged 10 gigabit ethernet switch engineered for harsh environments in the defence and heavy industrial sectors, on Wednesday.
The AIM-traded firm said Hermod II integrated time-sensitive networking (TSN), a technology that manages time-critical data, allowing the switch to act as a central hub for capturing, delivering and analysing sensor data in the field.
It explained that with the TSN capability, Hermod II could enhance communication efficiency across next-generation ethernet backbones, addressing increasing customer demands for higher performance and simplified network operations.
"Hermod II further enhances our ability to enable customer solutions that align with technological trends at system level," said chief executive officer Miles Adcock.
"It not only positions us to fulfil future demand for ruggedised switches from major defence and industrial players but will also open opportunities around the rest of our interoperable systems products."
At 1413 GMT, shares in Concurrent Technologies were up 2.1% at 144.98p.
