(Sharecast News) - Judges Scientific said on Friday that chairman Alexander Hambro has decided to retire at the end of 2024.

He will remain as a non-executive director until he steps down from the board at the conclusion of the next annual general meeting in May 2025.

Non-executive director Ralph Elman will assume the role of non-executive chair on 1 January 2025.

Chief executive David Cicurel said: "Alex was one of our four founding directors when the company originally listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2003.

"Since then, his wisdom, understanding of the City and faith in our culture and business model have been essential in us significantly scaling the group from a £2m initial investment to a market capitalisation of £580m and multiplying shareholder value by 100 times. Alex, on behalf of all the board, we are extremely grateful for your substantial contribution."
