Science in Sport raises £8m via placing

(Sharecast News) - Performance nutrition business Science in Sport said on Friday that it has raised approximately £8.0m via a placing of 47.05m ordinary shares.

Science in Sport said that the shares were issued at a price of 17.0p each, whicih represents a discount of approximately 8.1% to the stocks closing price on 3 July.

The AIM-listed firm noted that its newly placed shares represented roughly 25.8% of the company's issued share capital prior to the placing.

Science in Sport also launched a retail offer via the Winterflood Retail Access Platform in order to raise up to £500,000.

As of 0945 BST, Science in Sport shares were up 1.97% at 18.10p.
