(Sharecast News) - Tertiary Minerals announced on Wednesday that it has completed its inaugural drilling programme at the Mushima North Copper Project in Zambia.

The AIM-traded firm said the drilling was designed to test two key anomalies, A1 and C1, identified through soil sampling programmes conducted in 2023.

It said the anomalies showed the presence of copper, zinc, and arsenic.

The company completed 25 aircore and reverse circulation drill holes, reaching a maximum depth of 112 metres.

Three drill traverses were conducted at anomaly A1, with one traverse at anomaly C1.

Portable x-ray fluorescence (pXRF) analysis of the drill samples was now underway, alongside quality assurance and quality control checks.

Selected samples would also be sent to an independent laboratory for further analysis.

The board said the pXRF results would be released as soon as available, marking the next step in assessing the project's copper potential.

"Our inaugural drill programme at Mushima North went smoothly and was extremely successful, meeting its objectives in full," said executive chairman Patrick Cheetham.

"The Mushima North area is quite remote and largely inaccessible for exploration during the wet season, so we are pleased to have completed the drill programme and demobilised the drill equipment before the onset of the rains."

At 1345 BST, shares in Tertiary Minerals were flat at 0.09p.
