The Investment Masterclass: Essentials
Week 1 - Financial Foundations
Financial resilience is the perfect place to start. Just like a building, we all need solid foundations to work from when we begin something new. That’s why, before we start looking at investing, we’re going to look at the 5 key building blocks for financial resilience.
Week 2 - Save or Invest?
We'll start the journey of understanding the role of investing within your financial strategy, understanding risk and how investing can complement your savings.
Week 3 - Account types: choosing the right one
We’ll look at a few of the different investment accounts available to those looking to start investing.
Week 4 - Investment types and how they work
We’ll look at different types of investments, how they work and their levels of risk.
Week 5 - How to build your portfolio
Your investment strategy should be one that matches your goals and levels of risk (risk appetite) and aims to achieve the best return for your chosen level of risk. We take a closer look at asset allocation and set out the four steps to build your own personalised portfolio from scratch.
Week 6 - How to maintain and review your portfolio
Our investment goals and attitude to risk will change over time as we reach different stages in our lives. Leaving your portfolio unchecked for too long is a lot like ignoring the check engine light in your car – you’re leaving the outcome to chance. We’ll look closer at how to manage and review your portfolio on an ongoing basis.
