Approach and experience
Financial advice isn’t just about numbers or whether you are looking to grow a pot or receive an income. I get to know my clients, building a relationship of trust, advising people and not spreadsheets. It’s therefore important for me to understand what matters to my client, what they hope to do and what they really care about. This helps me identify what’s needed to achieve dreams and address any concerns in life. I’ll then consider relevant options, translating jargon into clear English, helping my clients make informed decisions that give peace of mind and confidence.
When it comes to big goals like retirement, many clients haven’t thought about how much they will need each year to fund their desired lifestyle. I’ll help my clients visualise their time in retirement and what they’ll do.
This helps to build a much more realistic forecast of the income they might need. I’ll also consider their wider family and understand what really matters before embarking on any planning.
Many of my clients comment that knowing there are steps in place to secure their dreams with plans drawn up by an adviser who understood them has given them the freedom to relax and enjoy life.
When all is said and done, it’s hugely satisfying to see that not only has my advice helped a client realise their goals, but I’ve also removed the weight from their shoulders.
By taking care of what matters, I enable my clients to get on with the important things - enjoying life with the confidence of knowing what their financial future holds.
Personal interests
I love contributing to what’s around me, whether it’s helping locally in my community; taking part in Envision Mentoring with school-age children; raising vital funds for charities; helping with junior golf coaching each week at my golf club as a volunteer; helping colleagues with exams; or sharing knowledge with others.
Out of work, I’m usually out at the gym, playing golf, busy in my garden or enjoying time with my black labrador, family & friends.
