Fund Objective
The Fund aims to achieve an above average income on your investment without sacrificing long term capital growth, by seeking diversified income sources across a variety of fixed income securities. The Fund invests globally at least 70% of its total assets in fixed income securities. These include bonds and money market instruments (i.e. debt securities with shortterm maturities). In order to generate above average income, the Fund will seek diversified income sources across a variety of such fixed income transferablesecurities. The fixed income securities are denominated in various currencies and may be issued by governments, government agencies, companies and supranationals (e.g. theInternational Bank for Reconstruction and Development), including those domiciled in, or the main business of which is in, emerging market countries. The Fund may invest in the full range of fixed income securities, including investment grade (i.e. meet a specified level of credit worthiness), non-investment grade(which may be significant exposure) and unrated. The investment adviser (IA) may use financial derivative instruments (FDIs) (i.e. investments the prices of which are based on one or more underlying assets) forinvestment purposes in order to achieve the investment objective of the Fund, and/or to reduce risk within the Fund’s portfolio, reduce investment costs and generateadditional income. The Fund may, via FDIs, generate varying amounts of market leverage (i.e. where the Fund gains market exposure in excess of the value of itsassets). For the purpose of managing currency exposure, the IA may use investment techniques (which may include the use of FDIs) to protect the value of the Fund, in wholeor part, or enable the Fund to profit from changes in currency exchange rates against the base currency of the Fund. The Fund may invest up to 60% of its total assets in asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities (i.e. financial securities backed by cash flows from debt) and up to 20% in contingent convertible bonds (fixed income transferable securities that can be exchanged for shares on or before maturity, but where the likelihood of such conversion is contingent on a specified event). For further details please see the prospectus. The Fund is actively managed, and the IA has discretion to select the Fund's investments without reference to a benchmark. Recommendation: This Fund may not be appropriate for short-term investment. Your shares will be non-distributing (i.e. dividend income will be included in their value).
