Mikael Jafs joined Pictet Asset Management in August 2019. He is a Senior Investment Manager in the Thematic Equities Funds Team. Before joining the Timber fund he was the Head of the Forestry, Paper & Packaging sector at Kepler Cheuvreux, since early 2005. He was also the Head of Swedish Research. Before joining Kepler Cheuvreux, he worked for five years at UBS, covering the Forestry, Paper & Packaging sector, and also a wide variety of Nordic small caps. Mikael was a sellside analyst, mainly covering the pulp and paper sector from 1992 at SEB Enskilda in Stockholm and at other firms. Mikael started his financial career in Helsinki in 1988, and established a market-making firm focusing on derivatives trading that later became a member of the Helsinki Stock Exchange. Mikael graduated with a degree in Law from the University of Helsinki (Finland), and also from the Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration in Helsinki and is a Certified European Financial Analyst (CEFA).

Christoph Butz joined Pictet Asset Management in 2002. He is a Senior Investment Manager in the Thematic Equities Funds team. Before joining the Timber Fund he was a sustainability expert in PICTET AM's Quantitative Equities team. He has been instrumental in building PICTET AM's timber franchise. Prior to joining Pictet, he was deputy head of sustainable research at Bank Sarasin, covering the resources and forestry sectors. Christoph has gained practical experience in forestry in Switzerland, Canada and Brazil, and as an environmental consultant. Christoph holds a MSc degree in Forest Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and is a Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA).
