(Sharecast News) - Amaroq Minerals has announced the appointment of Edward Westropp as its head of business development and corporate affairs on Tuesday, joining the company's executive team.
The AIM-traded firm said Westropp would bring more than 20 years of experience in the mining and natural resources sector, having held senior roles in investor relations and communications.
"I am delighted to welcome Edward to the Amaroq team, he has a strong track record in energy and natural resources, more recently with the Lundin Group and currently with WE Soda, the world's largest natural soda ash miner," said chief executive officer Eldur Olafsson.
"With commercial production now underway at our Nalunaq mine in Greenland, Edward will play a key role, working with me and the rest of the executive team, in capitalising on the growth opportunities available to us, as we focus our efforts in growing our mining presence, energy infrastructure and services business in order to execute on our strategy of becoming a sustainable, full cycle mining enterprise."
Most recently, Westropp served as head of investor relations and communications at WE Soda.
Previously, he was vice-president of investor relations and communications at Lundin Energy, where he played a key role until its acquisition by AkerBP in 2022.
Prior to that, he led the EMEA energy and natural resources team at FTI Consulting.
Westropp would join Amaroq Minerals on 24 March.
Edward Westropp said it was a "very exciting time" to be joining Amaroq.
"The company is poised for growth, having established a firm platform in Greenland from which it can leverage its position as one of the most active greenfield explorers and developers in Europe."
At 1405 GMT, shares in Amaroq Minerals were down 3.67% at 105p.
