(Sharecast News) - Haydale Graphene Industries announced on Wednesday that it has secured CE marking certification for its graphene-based JustHeat heating system, clearing the way for commercial deployment across the UK and the European Economic Area.

The AIM-traded firm said the certification confirmed that the system met strict European safety and environmental standards, and could now be legally marketed and installed in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

It described JustHeat as a low-voltage, direct heating solution developed using Haydale's patented 'HDPlas' functionalised graphene.

The system was designed to offer high energy efficiency, ease of installation, and cost-effectiveness, providing a potential alternative to traditional heating systems.

Early performance data from trials and third-party testing indicated that the system could deliver up to 75% energy cost savings and reduce carbon emissions by up to 90% compared with gas boilers, air source heat pumps, and conventional electric or wet underfloor heating systems.

The company said it had also published a white paper outlining the technical, economic, and environmental case for graphene-based heating.

"Securing CE certification for JustHeat is a major technical and commercial milestone," said chief executive officer Simon Turek.

"It confirms that our graphene-based heating system meets the highest European and UK safety standards."

Turek said the approval would allow the company to accelerate commercial rollout, and position JustHeat as a low-carbon alternative to gas boilers, heat pumps and traditional electric or wet underfloor heating systems in new builds and retrofit projects.

"With growing demand for sustainable heating solutions, JustHeat represents a significant commercial opportunity for Haydale as we expand into the energy transition and smart building markets."

At 1251 GMT, shares in Haydale Graphene Industries were up 3.56% at 0.14p.
