(Sharecast News) - Asset manager Abrdn said on Friday that it has appointed Siobhan Boylan - the current chief financial officer of NatWest's private banking arm Coutts & Co - as its new CFO.

Abrdn said that Boyland, who has more than 30 years of experience and significant knowledge from across the financial services sector, is expected to join the company in the summer.

Prior to Coutts, Boyland was CFO of Brewin Dolphin and of the asset management subsidiary of Legal & General, LGIM. She also held various senior finance roles at Aviva.

Chairman Sir Douglas Flint said: "I am delighted to welcome Siobhan as a member of our board and executive team. Siobhan brings outstanding credentials and deep experience as CFO of wealth and investment businesses."

Chief executive Jason Windsor said: "Siobhan was the outstanding candidate, with her impressive skillset and experience that is highly relevant, and complementary to the rest of the leadership team.

"I know she will make an immediate and significant impact. I want to take this opportunity to thank Ian Jenkins for his commitment during the interim period, and I am delighted he will step into a new role as CFO of our Investments business when Siobhan joins the company."
