(Sharecast News) - ACG Metals announced the appointment of Bar1_ Ba_ as general manager of the Gediktepe Mine in Turkey on Friday, effective immediately.
The company said that, with 15 years of experience in mining operations, project management, and technical services, Ba_ had played a key role at Gediktepe for over eight years, most recently as mine manager.
His promotion aligned with ACG's strategy to develop internal talent and enhance local leadership, the board said.
In his new role, Ba_ would co-lead the execution of the Gediktepe Sulphide Expansion Project alongside technical project director Graeme Rapley, who was appointed in October.
The firm said the expansion would transition the mine's production from gold and silver to copper and zinc concentrate, with gold and silver as by-products.
It was expected to produce between 20,000 and 25,000 tonnes of copper equivalent annually over an initial 11-year mine life, with first production targeted for early 2026.
"We are delighted to promote Bar1_ to general manager of the Gediktepe Mine, fulfilling our strategy to develop our internal talent pool," said chairman and chief executive officer Artem Volynets.
"His expertise and long-standing contributions to the mine position him well to lead the Gediktepe operating team as ACG looks to become the leading copper mining company on the LSE."
