Holcim to expand building solutions business in new 2030 targets

(Sharecast News) - Swiss building materials giant Holcim has guided to 3-5% average growth over the next five years as it expands its operations in the "high-value" Building Solutions division.

As part of its NextGen Growth 2023 new strategy announced on Friday, and following the planned spinoff of its North American business Amrize, Holcim said it is making focused investments in in Europe, Australia and North Africa, as well as accelerating growth in Latin America.

"NextGen Growth 2030 will drive shareholder value with growth-focused capital allocation and value-accretive M&A," the company said in a statement.

Chief executive Miljan Gutovic said the company is planning to benefit from the "powerful megatrends shaping the future of construction, from urbanisation to energy-efficient refurbishment".

He said that expanding its Building Solutions division, which covers everything from foundation and flooring to walling and roofing systems, is a key part of Holcim's transformation.

"With this new strategy, we are unlocking significant growth opportunities to drive shareholder value," Gutovic said.

As part of the new strategy, Holcim is pointing to 6-10% average annual recurring EBIT growth through to 2030.
