What do our employer clients think of HL Workplace?

Over the summer, HL Workplace undertook its annual employer satisfaction survey. We asked all our contacts at the pension schemes we manage (the employer) what they think of us.

This article isn’t personal advice. If you’re not sure whether an investment is right for you please seek advice. If you choose to invest, the value of your investment will rise and fall, so you could get back less than you put in. More than one in four of our employers responded with their honest thoughts and views of the service they receive from HL. They told us what they thought we did well, and made suggestions for ways they’d like to see HL Workplace progress.

97% rated the service they’ve received as ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’. One of our employers said:

“The team that I deal with on both the pension and benefits side are extremely knowledgeable and helpful and a pleasure to deal with.”

At HL Workplace, our range of services allow our employers to offer modern and competitive workplace benefits. From savings and investments, to financial wellbeing and flexible benefits, HL Workplace is there to support employees from the start of their working lives, right through to retirement.

Our most valued service, as voted by our employers, was the presentations and 1-2-1 meetings that our Financial Wellbeing Specialists conduct with employees up and down the country. Pre-pandemic, they would travel to offices and meet employees to discuss finances and to help put plans and personal goals into action. Since the world changed, they’ve been able to do this all online. They’ve hosted webinars and 1-2-1 sessions with thousands of attendees on topics such as the intricacies of annuities to learning how to budget and save for your first home.

The governance and management information that our team at HL Workplace provides our employers about their pension schemes is also hugely valued. Our Client Relationship Managers build strong and stable relationships and report on their employer’s pension schemes, identifying areas for improvement and always keeping employers up to date with pension legislation.

One of our employers said:

“Alastair (our CRM) has been a great partner in helping us better evaluate our pension plan.”

85% of our employers who have experienced other pension providers or advisers have told us that HL Workplace are ‘better’ or ‘much better’ than them. Many of our employers said that the quick answers they receive to their complicated pension queries and the personal service they receive is what sets HL Workplace apart from others.

There are areas where our employers expected more from HL Workplace – and we’re acting on it. Some employers mentioned their company pension websites which are ready for an upgrade. So, by the end of the year, we hope to have migrated each of our company schemes onto their own new, bespoke and streamlined website.

When it came to whether our employers would recommend HL Workplace to their peers, 97.5% said ‘yes’. That’s a huge motivation for our teams across HL Workplace to continue the great work they’re already doing and to continue to make positive changes.

Stephen Lefley, Head of HL Workplace, said:

“These outstanding scores and comments from our employer clients are a superb endorsement of the efforts and skills of HL Workplace colleagues. We’re looking forward to working hard to ensure we continue to meet and exceed our clients’ expectations of us”.

We’ll conduct the annual employer satisfaction survey again next year and be sure to let you know what our employers think in 2022.
