How to verify your identity online using Mitek
If we've asked you to verify your identity, here's how you can upload your documents online using our third-party partner, Mitek (formerly HooYu).
Before you start
On certain occasions, for example, when you open an account with us, we may need to verify your identity. As an alternative to sending us documents in the post, we use a third-party partner called Mitek, which allows you to upload photos of your identity documents online.
You’ll receive a message (either a text or an email from noreply@id.miteksystems.com) asking you to use the Mitek ID confirmation service. This link will expire after seven days. If your link expires and you need a new one, let us know.
We do not require translations for documents using the Latin alphabet (for example a,b,c,d,e...). If your documents are in a non-Latin language (for example Mandarin, Arabic, Thai) the document will need to be translated. If you're not sure whether a document needs translating, contact us with details of the document type and the language used, and we can let you know.
How to verify your identity online
- Once you receive your message asking you to use the Mitek ID confirmation service, select the ‘Get started’ button to start the verification process.
- Enter your details using the form, and select 'Submit'.
- Read, and agree to the terms and conditions, and select 'Next'.
- Check you have the documents you need, and select 'Start'.
- Read the Mitek privacy terms, and select 'Agree and continue'.
- Upload the requested documents. If you have been asked to provide a 'Selfie', make sure the photo is clear, and in focus.
- If you'd like us to let you know when your documents have been reviewed, select 'Notify me'.
What happens next
Once you have uploaded your documents, they can take up to 3 working days to process. We'll send you confirmation once this process is complete.
