How to transfer cash from a Stocks and Shares ISA to a Cash ISA
You can transfer uninvested cash from your HL Stocks and Shares ISA to your HL Cash ISA. This will keep your money’s tax-free status and will not count towards your yearly ISA allowance.
Before you start
- To transfer, you’ll need to have an open HL Cash ISA.
- You must have an easy access or limited access product set up as your default savings product in your Cash ISA.
- You can only transfer uninvested cash from your Stocks and Shares ISA. If you want to transfer money that’s invested, you’ll need to sell the investments before you start the transfer.
- If you already have a transfer or withdrawal in progress, you’ll need to wait for it to complete before you can start a new transfer.
How to transfer on the website
- Log in to your account.
- Select ‘Stocks and Shares ISA’.
- Select the ‘Cash’ tab.
- Under ‘Manage cash on your account’ select ‘Transfer money’.
- Next to HL Cash ISA, select ‘Transfer money’.
- Enter the amount you wish to transfer and select ‘Next’.
- Check your transfer details and select ‘Confirm transfer’ to complete your transfer request.
What happens next
The money should transfer within 1 working day.
If any of the available cash in your Stocks and Shares ISA shows as pending, it will need to settle before we can start the transfer.
