The Company helps businesses and people to analyze, optimize, and innovate by wirelessly connecting billions of everyday things, such as apparel, automobile parts, luggage, and shipments to the Internet. The Company uses a type of radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology known as RAIN for the wireless item-to-cloud connectivity. The Impinj platform uses RAIN RFID to deliver timely data about these everyday things to business and consumer applications, enabling a boundless IoT. It sells a suite of products that enable the Company and its partner ecosystem use to connect and deliver item data to enterprises. It sells two types of silicon integrated circuit (IC) radios. The first are endpoint ICs that store a serialized number to wirelessly identify an item.
